In addition to the more family centric nature and artistic culture which serve to differentiate Mobile’s celebration of Carnival from that of our sister city of New Orleans, the Port City’s features fewer monarchs. Only four monarchs reign over Carnival in Mobile, those being the adult and juvenile kings and queens of the Mobile Carnival Association and the Mobile Mardi Gras Association (MAMGA). In this gallery you see the trains, garments, and regalia of two recent juvenile monarchs. To your left are the royal robes of King Edward Bradford Ladd, III. A classic and elegant design, King Edward’s train looks to older traditions of royal robes. To your right is a representation of Queen Margaret Rose Elliot. The design Margaret Rose’s train features her favorite flower – the rose.
